The Beyond Sports Fellowship provides ambitious athletes with the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to become the next generation of leaders in business and sports. This is also an invaluable opportunity to live and work abroad alongside a talented team of like-minded leaders.
Fellowship Overview
Location: San Jose, Costa Rica
Term: Oct. 1, 2025 through Aug. 31, 2026*

Responsibilities of a Fellow
Fall - Early Spring:
Work directly with a Beyond Sports Brand Lead to generate enrollments for our wide range of summer programming for high school and college-level athletes.

Speak with prospective families over the phone and communicate the excitement and transformative nature of our experiences

Special projects for Beyond HQ (may include social media, video and photo editing, copywriting, digital design, public speaking, finance/accounting, and/or administrative tasks)

Manage pre-departure communication with students and parents
-
Assist with summer program planning and coordination (may include helping with logistics and/or updating pre-departure materials for families)

Other duties as assigned
Early Spring - Summer:
During the spring, part of your time will be dedicated to assisting program preparation/planning.

Participate in Beyond Sports Field Staff Training
-
Assist in leading Costa Rica programs that take place from January through April
-
Assist in leading our Costa Rica summer programs. Interns may also have the chance to travel to another Beyond Sports program destination, depending on staffing needs over the summer. Summer program assignments are coordinated in the spring.

Develop meaningful connections with our program participants

Help foster an empowering, positive, and inclusive program environments

Additional Details
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree (graduating classes of 2025, 2024, 2023)
-
Ability to commit from October 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026
-
Former collegiate student-athlete and/or coach
-
Team captain or someone whose coach looked to as a team leader
-
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills and cross-cultural awareness
-
Strong writing and public speaking skills (over the phone and in-person)
-
Prior sales, customer service, or event planning experience is advantageous
-
Experience with CRM software is preferred
-
Spanish-speaking ability is a bonus
Compensation & Benefits

Shared Fellow housing with all utilities (internet included), while in Costa Rica. All Fellows will have their own bedroom.

October through November - Interns in Costa Rica

Thanksgiving through New Years - Interns working remotely from the US for the holidays. Interns responsible for arranging housing on their own during this stretch.

January through August - Interns in Costa Rica
