Josh Erickson, MBA
Co-Founder, Executive Director
Josh co-founded Beyond Sports and is the Executive Director. He's held several head coach positions in Costa Rica including the Men's National Team, Women's National Team, and a Premier Division Professional Team. Before Beyond, he worked for PeacePlayers International, a non-profit organization that uses basketball to bridge social divides around the world and was an Assistant Basketball Coach at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. Josh has won a Costa Rican National Championship in Costa Rica's top professional division and a gold medal in the Women's Central American Games.

Tim Whittle
Director of International Sports Tours
Tim is our Director of International Sports Tours. He oversees business development for athletic team trips (college, high school, and club). He operates a youth basketball academy (3 & D Hoops) in Portland, Oregon and is a high school basketball coach. In addition, Tim coached men's college basketball for 17 years, including stops at Macalester College, Washington University in St. Louis (three Final Fours and back-to-back National Championships), and the University of the South. Before coaching, Tim held numerous positions in corporate finance including Manager of Finance with the Florida Marlins in MLB. His wife, Beth, is a 23-year college swimming and diving coach and they have two children ages 11 and 12.

Annika Wachtman
Director of Programs
Annika is our Director of Programs––helping shape the experiences we create for student-athletes on our individual tours. She played basketball at Capital University, where she served on the program's leadership council for three years and was 3X Academic All-Conference award recipient. Inspired by her own experience as a Beyond Sports participant, Annika joined our joined our team after graduation and spent a year and half in Costa Rica helping build our high school leadership programming. She currently resides in central Ohio where she remains invested in the sports scene as a coach, participant, and fan.

Megan Theiller
Director of Systems and Operations
Megan is our Director of Systems and Operations for all individual tours. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Fairfield University, where she also left an impressive legacy as a three-year captain of the women's volleyball team. Megan was a decorated scholar-athlete; she won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Female Student-Athlete of the Year and was the MAAC's NCAA Woman of the Year nominee in her senior year. Following graduation, Megan joined our team to help build our high school leadership programming. Originally from New York, she has been living in Costa Rica since 2018.

Silvia Betancourt
Costa Rica Site Director
Silvia is our Costa Rica Site Director. She is one of Central America's most outstanding athletes having represented Costa Rica on both the National Basketball and Soccer Teams. She played DI soccer in the United States at Liberty University where she earned 1st team All-Big South Honors. Silvia was equally impressive in the classroom earning Presidential Honor Roll four consecutive years. Silvia currently resides outside of San Jose and remains an active part of the Costa Rica sports community.

Kris Brackmann
Spain Site Director
Kris is our Spain Site Director. The former Seattle Times Athlete-of-the-Year graduated from Claremont McKenna College where she led her basketball team to four SCIAC league championships and four NCAA DIII appearances. With a passion to live abroad and discover more of this beautiful world she moved to Spain in 2017 and keeps in shape by competing in her other favorite sport, beach volleyball. Kris loves being able to stay connected to student-athletes and introducing them to new cultures.

Ashlee Benavides
Group Travel Manager
Ashlee is our Group Travel Manager and has led various sports tours and team trips to Costa Rica, Italy, Greece, and Spain. She is a former GLASS Mentor for Beyond Sports and lived in Costa Rica from 2019-2020. While in Costa Rica, she also played professional basketball for San Ramon ARBA. She is a former student-athlete and assistant coach at California State University Northridge. While at CSUN, she earned MVP honors after leading her team to consecutive Big West Championships.

Molly Devilbiss
High School Program Manager
Molly is our High School Program Manager, overseeing recruitment and development in the high school space. She is the current assistant lacrosse coach at Puget Sound University in Washington. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Messiah University where she was a four-year lacrosse player making multiple NCAA tournament appearances and was named Mid-Atlantic Conference Lacrosse Female Student-Athlete of the Year. After college, Molly was the top assistant at Frostburg State University for three years while earning her Master's in School Counseling in 2017. She also served as head lacrosse coach at Simmons University for the five years before transitioning to her position with Puget Sound Women's Lacrosse Program.

Kayla Roling
Tour Coordinator
Kayla joins the Beyond Sports team as a Tour Coordinator. She brings ample experience leading foreign tours around the world and serving as a Beyond Sports tour coach. She is a former collegiate basketball player from the University of Nevada, Reno, where she was a Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete. After college, Kayla was a graduate assistant with Gonzaga University Women's Basketball team for two years while earning her Master's in Sport and Athletic Administration. Her coaching career then took her to Puget Sound and Pepperdine University, where she served as an assistant coach in the women's basketball programs.

Hayley Wirth
Tour Coordinator, College Tours & Spain Operations
Hayley serves as a College Tour Coordinator and also oversees our Spain tour planning and execution. Originally from California, she is a former collegiate soccer player and coach. Hayley received her undergraduate degree in business from Lesley University and was named Female Senior Student-Athlete-of-the-Year. After undergrad, she pursued a Master’s in Sports Leadership from Northeastern University. Later she moved to Spain and earned another Master’s in Global Higher Education from the Universidad de Alcalá. Still residing in Spain, she now enjoys playing with her 7v7 soccer team and hosting our travelers in the destination she calls home!

Sam Glass
Tour Coordinator
Sam graduated from Ohio University, where she competed on the Women’s Swim & Dive Team and served as team captain her senior year. During her time at OU, she was actively involved in Bobcats Lead Change, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and the Community Outreach Subcommittee. After graduation, Sam worked at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden as a Wildlife Educator and Tour Guide, while also coaching for the Northern Kentucky Dolphins Special Olympics Swim Team. Sam currently resides in San Ramon, Costa Rica.

Emily Mock
Tour Coordinator
Emily is a former collegiate basketball athlete from Mount Holyoke College, where she graduated with a degree in Biology and Spanish. During her time as a student athlete, she was a three-time member of the NEWMAC All-Academic team. In her senior year, she was named an NSCA All-American Strength & Conditioning Athlete of the Year, as well as being elected a team captain and chair of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Originally from Bangor, Maine, she spent the past year in Córdoba, Spain, working as an English Teaching Assistant. Emily now resides in San Ramon, Costa Rica.
