The 2027 Portugal Women's Volleyball Tour is a nine-day immersive experience for top collegiate women's volleyball athletes.

Swap your home gym for overseas arenas as you compete against top local Portuguese clubs. You'll share the court with some of the best collegiate players in the US, taking time between matches to explore the iconic cities of Lisbon and Porto. This is more than just reps—it’s your chance to sharpen your skills, expand your athletic community, and experience the best of Portugal.

We are recruiting standout women's volleyball performers and leaders from NCAA DII, DIII, and NAIA.

Tour Details

Portugal | Lisbon & Porto

Per Person Cost

$3,995 (+$600 for a Single Occupancy Room, optional)

Eight nights 4-star hotel lodging (5 Nights in Lisbon, 3 Nights in Porto)

Breakfast daily and three additional group meals

All transportation while in Portugal*

Three exhibition games against top local club teams

*Airport transfers are included for participants who arrive and depart on the designated days. If you wish to extend your stay on either end of the trip, you are responsible for arranging your own transportation to and from the hotel.

Eligibility

This is an invitation-only tour. We are looking for the top athletes in collegiate women's volleyball––NCAA DII, DIII, and NAIA. If you would like to be considered for an invitation, please follow the Recruit Me process.

Capacity

This tour is capped at 20 student-athletes and will have two playing rosters. Roster spots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Accommodations

All overnight stays are in 4-star hotels. Students will share a room with 1 to 2 other travelers, however, every student will have their own bed.

This tour operates alongside our college-level Portugal Women's Basketball Tour.

Payment

Not Included

Round-trip airfare
Lunch & dinners outside of the three group meals
Personal expenses (i.e. souvenirs and snacks)
Tips for local tour guides, optional
Passport/visa and baggage fees, if applicable
Trip cancellation/interruption insurance, optional
Card fees for program payments, if applicable

A $250 deposit is required to reserve your spot. Additional payments will be paid in a series of installments:

Due at Registration - $250
March 15th - 50% of Remaining Balance
May 5th - Final Balance

The final deposit deadline is February 15th, 2027.

Tour Itinerary

May 26 | Travel Day

If you are traveling from the US, you will need to depart from the US on May 26th in order to arrive in Portugal on May 27th.

May 27 | Lisbon

Welcome to Lisbon! Meet the Beyond Sports staff at the Lisbon (LIS) airport and transfer to the hotel. Spend some free time exploring before afternoon hotel check-in. In the evening, kick off the tour with a practice session alongside your new teammates, then enjoy a welcome dinner and trip orientation. Overnight in Lisbon.

May 28 | Lisbon

Start the day with a guided tour of Lisbon, including Castelo de São Jorge and Lisbon Cathedral. Followed by free time to explore the city center. Game #1 in the evening. Overnight in Lisbon.

May 29 | Lisbon

Morning practice session and spend the rest of the day relaxing in Sesimbra, a local beach town. In the afternoon, embark on a catamaran cruise and enjoy a fado show in the evening. Overnight in Lisbon.

May 30 | Lisbon

Morning visit to a royal palace in Lisbon. Spend some time in Belem, a neighborhood of Lisbon and home to the pasteis de nata. In the evening return to Lisbon for Game #2. Overnight in Lisbon.

May 31 | Lisbon

Head north to Porto, Portugal’s second biggest city. On the way, stop and visit Óbidos, a unique medieval village, for lunch. Overnight in Porto.

June 1 | Porto

Enjoy a morning guided tour of Porto and learn about its history. Free time to explore and relax on your own before Game #3 in the evening. Overnight in Porto.

June 2 | Porto

Embark on a morning cruise on the Rio Douro before starting your day in the city. In the evening, join together for a cooking class of local and traditional foods. Overnight in Porto.

June 3 | Porto

Take the time to relax as the group transfers back to Lisbon for the final day of the tour. Overnight in Lisbon.

June 4 | Departure

Travel day! Depart from the Lisbon (LIS) airport with friendships and memories to last a lifetime!

The final itinerary may change slightly based on the confirmed game schedule. We will do our best to follow this exact itinerary.

Can my family come with me?

Yes, absolutely! We’d love to host them. Family members can register to travel with you and experience the tour alongside you.

How much does it cost for family to join?

Family members pay the same price as athletes. They receive the same package inclusions, so they can enjoy the full tour experience too.

Can I room with a family member?

Yes! You can choose to share a room with your family or room with another athlete. We’ll work with you to arrange your preferred option.

What if my family wants to plan their own trip? Can they still spectate the games?

The short answer is––yes, family can spectate the games even if they aren't registered with Beyond Sports.

The long answer––if spectating the games is a top priority for your family while they travel, we strongly advise that they join us as a registered traveler. Game times, and even venues, can change last minute because of local team schedules. This variability can make it challenging for non-registered family to arrange their own activities and transportation.

We love welcoming family on these tours! They’ve been part of your sports career from the beginning. This is a chance for them to be there for another big moment.

Can my family watch the games on live-stream?

This is not something we can guarantee will be available. Unfortunately, most international exhibition games are not live-streamed.
