Competition Overview

Our 2026 scholarship competition is now open. We are looking for high school students who demonstrate a strong ability to self-reflect, as well as an enhanced understanding of the value of sports. Scholarship is awarded in the form of credit to be applied to one of our 2026 Beyond Sports high school programs.

Application Deadline: ​​March 1, 2026

Eligibility Requirements: Any high school student who has applied, received an invitation, or registered for one of our 2026 Beyond Sports High School Tours.

Prompts: This year's application features a series of self-reflection prompts -- each to be answered in 700 characters or less:

​

1. Tell us about a time you learned more from the process than the outcome. What did you learn?
    

2. Provide an example of when a coach, teacher, or mentor challenged you in a way that stuck with you.
    

3. What’s one assumption you currently have about the country you’d be traveling to? Where do you think that assumption comes from?
    

4. Describe a time you felt out of place. What helped you adapt?
    

5. One year from now, what do you hope will be different about how you show up as an athlete, teammate, or leader—and why?

• 3 - $1000 Scholarship Winner

• 10 - $500 Scholarship Winners

• 15 - $200 Scholarship Winners​
