Capacity
This tour is capped at 24 student-athletes. Spots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Accomodations
All overnights are in 3 or 4-star accommodations. Participants will share a room with another traveler, however, every participant will have their own bed.
Payment
A $250 deposit is required to reserve your spot. Additional payments will be paid in a series of installments:

Tour Itinerary
July 13 - Travel Day
If you are traveling from the US, you will need to depart from the US on July 13th in order to arrive in Spain on July 14th.
July 14 - Madrid
Arrive at Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD) where your Tour Staff will be waiting! Transfer to the hotel for check-in, then enjoy an introductory walking tour of Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Once all students have arrived, the day concludes with Tour Orientation, followed by a welcome dinner to kick off the program!
July 15 - Madrid
Start the day with team building in Retiro Park to connect with your fellow young professionals. In the afternoon, go behind the scenes at Real Madrid’s legendary stadium to see how a global sports brand operates on a massive scale. Wrap up the day with Career Workshop #1: Mapping the Five Pathways––introducing the core career tracks explored throughout the program.
July 16 - Madrid
In the morning, try your hand at Spain's premier racket sport: padel (a fast-paced game, not to be confused with pickleball). After a chance to refresh, attend Professional Seminar #1: Behind the Scenes. Led by an industry expert, you’ll tackle a "brains on" challenge regarding the complex logistics and branding engines that power global match days.
July 17 - Valencia
Travel to Valencia via high-speed train to experience Europe's premier mode of regional transit. After arrival and hotel check-in, participate in Professional Seminar #2: Athlete Care. This seminar focuses on the science of elite performance, where you will work with an expert to solve a real-world problem involving athlete recovery and holistic wellness.
July 18 - Valencia
Enjoy a guided bike tour through the City of Arts & Sciences, followed by a private paella cooking workshop. In the afternoon, engage in Professional Seminar #3: Sports Media. You will work with a media professional to navigate a digital storytelling challenge, examining how sports brands engage global audiences through media.
July 19 - Valencia
Board a catamaran for a morning Mediterranean cruise, followed by beach time and optional beach volleyball. The day concludes with Professional Seminar #4: Sport for Development––learn how non-profits and foundations leverage sports to drive social change and youth empowerment.
July 20 - Barcelona
Depart for Barcelona with a coastal stop in the Roman city of Tarragona. Upon arrival, take a panoramic tour of the 1992 Olympic sites at Montjuïc and Gaudí’s architectural landmarks. You'll explore the "Olympic Effect," seeing firsthand how major sporting events can permanently redefine a city’s global identity and brand.
July 21 - Barcelona
Visit one of Barcelona’s most iconic sites—Sagrada Familia—before enjoying free time in the Gothic Quarter. In the evening, attend Professional Seminar #5: The Director’s Chair. This capstone seminar focuses on executive leadership and vision-setting, challenging you to make high-stakes decisions just like a front-office executive.
July 22 - Barcelona
Participate in the Tour Wrap-Up Workshop, where we focus on "Skill Translation"—turning your experiences in Spain into resume-ready bullet points and compelling career narratives. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the beach before celebrating your journey with a farewell dinner in the heart of Barcelona.
July 23 - Travel Day
Say our goodbyes as we head to Barcelona Airport for a full day of travel back to the U.S.A.
The final itinerary will include all components described above, however, the order of activities will change based on the confirmed schedule of seminars.

Phase #1: Expert Introduction (15 Minutes)
Our guest industry experts pull back the curtain on their professional journey. You’ll hear firsthand how they navigated the sports landscape and the pivotal moments that led to their success.
Phase #2: Student-Led Q&A (15 Minutes)
This is your time to ask the hard questions. You have a direct line to a professional who is currently shaping the game to get the inside scoop on their field and daily life.
Phase #3: The "Brains On" Challenge (1Hour)
Work through a real-world problem posed by the expert. You’ll break into small teams to craft a solution, present your strategy, and finally learn how that exact challenge was handled in the professional world.

This is an invitation-based experience, but applying is free and non-binding.

We are looking for curious, motivated high school students who are ready for an introduction to professions in sport. Complete our free, non-binding Tour Application to be considered for an invitation.

Receive an Invitation
If selected, you'll receive an email invitation prompting you to Accept Your Invitation. Accepting your invitation will direct you to our registration portal where you'll reserve your spot on the tour.
3.
Register & Depost
If selected, you'll receive an email invitation with registration instructions. A $250 deposit is required to reserve your spot. The full cost of the tour is not due immediately.

Do I need to be a competitive athlete to participate in this tour?
No; this tour is designed for any high school student interested in exploring careers in sport. One of the core missions of this tour is to show students that you don’t have to be a high-level athlete to have a successful, high-impact career in the sports world.
Why is this an invitation-only tour?
Because this tour is designed as a professional development experience rather than a standard sightseeing tour. We maintain a selective invitation process to ensure a high-caliber cohort of motivated students.
How will this tour actually help my college applications or resume?
We don't just provide a trip; we give you "Skill Translation." Our final workshop in Barcelona is dedicated specifically to helping you articulate this international experience. We’ll show you how to turn your "Brains On" challenges and site visits into professional bullet points for your resume and compelling stories for your college essays or future interviews.
Who are the "Industry Experts" leading the sessions?
Our experts are active professionals working within the five career pathways across Spain. This includes executives from major La Liga clubs, sports scientists at elite performance hubs, media directors, and leaders of international sports foundations. They aren't just teachers—they are potential mentors who provide a direct look into the current state of the global sports industry.
How will I travel to Spain?
Tour participants are responsible for arranging their own air travel to and from Spain. We provide detailed flight booking instructions in the pre-departure process. If you’re interested in coordinating your travel plans with other tour students, please contact our staff to be connected with your tour peers.
Who will meet me at the airport in Spain?
Our Beyond Sports staff will be waiting for you at the airport in Spain. Once you connect with our team in Spain, our staff and tour coaches will stay with you through the duration of the program.
