BASEBALL TEAM TRIPS
COSTA RICA
Costa Rica is unique among its Central American neighbors with baseball being more of a niche sport rather than a national pastime. Still, the National Team is a formidable opponent and Estadio Escarre provides a minor league caliber stadium. Baseball Team Trips to Costa Rica have the option of crossing the border into southern Nicaragua for additional competition or experiencing the game in one of Costa Rica's more rural communities.
Excursions
Excursions include zip-lining through the rain-forest, white-water rafting, relaxing in the natural hot springs at the base of Arenal Volcano and visiting world-class beaches on the Pacific Coast!
Service-Learning
Baseball is growing in Costa Rica and there are some outstanding organizations driving the effort. Your team will work with local baseball federations and non-profits to provide clinics for local youth with an emphasis on fundamentals.

Grant Leslie
Baseball Director
Grant was a 3-sport athlete in college and was an assistant coach with the Costa Rica National Team for the 2013 Central American Games. With the National Team, he traveled throughout Central America for tournaments in preparation for Juegos Centroamericano hosted in San Jose, Costa Rica.
He has lead Beyond Sports baseball groups to every corner of Costa Rica where baseball is played as well as across neighboring borders for games in San Juan Del Sur and Isla Ometepe in Nicaragua, and Bocas Del Toro, Panama.
SOUTH AFRICA
The South Africa baseball community recently celebrated the first appearance of a South African in a MLB game when Gift Ngoepe took the field for the Pittsburgh Pirates in April, 2017. South Africa's Major League consists of 8 competitive teams and quality fields are available for practices and games. Enjoy the southern hemisphere summer with a pre-season trip in January!
Excursions
A full menu of bucket list excursion options include safaris, great white shark diving, hiking Table Mountain, and world class beaches. South Africa also offers some amazing cultural sites like the Robben Island tour where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned during the Apartheid Era.
Service-Learning
South Africa offers unique service-learning opportunities in coordination with Baseball Association of Western Province and/or local "sport for development" organizations.

PANAMA
The tradition of baseball in Panama is a fascinating piece of history dating back to the construction of the Panama Canal in the early 1900's and even earlier than that by some accounts! The country is home to baseball legends Rod Carew and Mariano Rivera. Today, Panama's National Team ranks 14th in the world with several MLB players on the roster. 11 professional teams compete in the National League in world class stadiums filled with raucous crowds.
Excursions
Teams will tour the famous Panama Canal and learn about the history of this engineering marvel and it's important role in international trade. Trips are based in the vibrant economic hub of Panama City and excursion options include zip-lining through the rainforest, catamaran tours to the numerous islands off the Pacific and Caribbean Coasts, visits to villages of indigenous tribes and relaxing at the beach at one of Panama's beautiful all-inclusive resorts.
Service-Learning
Help develop Panama's future generation of stars and increase access to low-income communities by providing baseball clinics for local youth!

AUSTRALIA
Australia has had dozens of players make it to the Major Leagues and their National Team is currently #7 in the WSBC ranking. The Australian Baseball League consists of 6 professional teams that compete in minor league size stadiums. University teams are also available for competition.
Excursions
Australia trips include sightseeing opportunities including the famous Sydney Opera house and The Great Ocean Road. You'll see unique wildlife including kangaroos and Koalas. Bucket list experiences like snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef are easy to include in your itinerary!
Service-Learning
Provide baseball clinics for local kids in an effort to grow the game in Australia!
