Softball Tour Details

*Airport transfers are included and arranged for students who arrive and depart on the designated days. If students wish to extend their stay on either end of the trip, they are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the hotel.
CAPACITY
This tour is capped at 32 student-athletes. Individuals are encouraged to register as soon as they are ready to guarantee their spot.
There is not a cap for any family and friends who are interested in joining the tour.

ACCOMMODATIONS
All hotel stays are in 4-star hotels. Participants will share a room with another traveler, however, every participant will have their own bed.
PAYMENT
A $250 deposit is required to reserve your spot for the tour. The deposit deadline is February 1st, 2024.
The remaining balance is paid in a series of installments. Partial payments can be made at your convenience prior to the deadline.

ROSTER SIZE
This tour will have two rosters of 16 student-athletes. Each roster will play three exhibition competitions. Playing time will be divided up evenly among players.

Tour Itinerary
DAY 1
Travel day! Depart from your preferred U.S. airport on an overnight flight to Italy.
DAY 2
Arrival in Milan! Connect with Beyond Sports staff at the Milan airport (LIN or MXP) and transfer to Bologna. Free time to explore before afternoon hotel check-in. Welcome dinner in the evening followed by trip orientation. Overnight in Bologna area.
DAY 3
Morning practice session with your new teammates. Free time to grab lunch and explore the city center of Bologna. Game #1 in the evening. Overnight in Bologna area.
DAY 4
Bike tour of Bologna in the morning then transfer to Milan. Afternoon free time to explore Milan’s city center. Game #2 in the evening. Overnight in Milan area.
DAY 5
Morning boat tour on Lake Como including a visit to Bellagio; known as the "Pearl of the Lake." Afternoon free time to enjoy Lake Como at your leisure. Overnight in Milan area.
DAY 6
Morning guided tour of Milan including Duomo di Milano and Castello Sforzesco. Afternoon free time before Game #3. Overnight in Milan area.
DAY 7
Morning transfer to Mestre for a full day visit to Venice. Afternoon gondola ride and free time to explore the city center. Overnight in Mestre.
DAY 8
Full day of watching Softball World Cup games and exploring the nearby town during down time. Overnight in Mestre.
DAY 9
Day trip to a nearby beach resort to relax and swim at your leisure. Overnight in Mestre.
DAY 10
Morning transfer to Milan. Enjoy an Italian cooking class and free time to do some last minute shopping before the farewell dinner in the evening. Overnight in Milan area.
DAY 11
Travel day! Depart from the Milan (MXP or LIN) airport with friendships and memories to last a lifetime!
Please understand that the final itinerary may change slightly based on the confirmed game schedule. We will do our best to follow this exact itinerary.

Accept Your Invitation
If you received an invitation from your coach, you can accept your invite and begin registration. If you did not receive an invite, but you are interested in joining the tour, please complete our tour application.

Register & Deposit
When you are ready to commit to the tour, submit your $250 deposit to reserve your spot. The full cost of the tour is not due immediately. Payment deadlines are outlined above and in registration.
3.
Begin Travel Prep
Once registered, your tour coordinator will connect with you to share pre-departure information. We encourage all students who do not have a valid passport to apply for a passport as soon as possible!

How was I selected for this tour?
Tour invite lists are a competitive selection process. We select conference statistical leaders, all-conference honorees, and coach recommendations.
Who will be my tour coach?
Beyond Sports is proud of our incredible network of college coaches that join our international trips as tour coaches! All tour coaches are current college coaches and will be announced in Spring 2024.
How will I travel to Italy?
Tour participants are responsible for arranging their own air travel to and from Italy. If you’re interested in coordinating your travel plans with other tour students, please contact our staff to be connected with your tour teammates.
What do the international travel days look like?
Arrival Day. Tour participants should aim to arrive at either of the Milan airports (MXP or LIN) by the afternoon of July 9th. Our program staff will greet you upon arrival and help transfer you to the hotel. We encourage you to plan accordingly so you arrive on time and can attend your team practice and orientation.
Departure Day. Students will be transferred to either of the Milan airports (MXP or LIN) on the morning of July 18th.
