Join us for an unforgettable tour visiting two of Spain's major cities and an overnight in southern France for a FIFA Women's World Cup Round of 16 Match. Visit the cultural epicenter of Soccer, train with US college coaches, and compete against top Spanish clubs. Program cost includes hotel accommodations, 4 international matches, all transportation in Spain and France, two meals per day and roundtrip airfare from LAX, ORD, or JFK. Does not include costs for optional snacks or souvenirs.
Soccer Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Depart from your preferred Hub Airport with the group (LAX, ORD or JFK). The group will be accompanied by tour coaches and Beyond Sports staff for the duration of the tour.
Day 2
Arrive to Barcelona and transfer to hotel accommodations. The group will have a free day to explore downtown Barcelona before an evening training session. Followed by a welcome dinner and ceremony at the hotel.
Day 3
Guided tour of Barcelona including stops at Montjuic Hill, sites of 1992 Olympic Games and Park Guell. Match #1 in the evening.
Day 4
Morning departure for Montpellier, France. Check in to hotel in Montpellier. In the evening, attend the FIFA Women’s World Cup Round of 16 game.
Day 5
Guided city tour of Montpellier. Afternoon departure to Barcelona to continue Spanish tour. Evening trip to explore Las Ramblas, a 1.2 kilometer pedestrian boulevard full of shopping and cultural destinations.
Day 6
Guided tour of Sagrada Familia and Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter). Afternoon in Barcelona with optional tour of Camp Nou and the home of F.C. Barcelona. Match #2 in evening.
Day 7
Morning departure for Madrid. Evening hotel check-in and dinner in the city.
Day 8
Walking tour of Madrid featuring visits to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Espana, Royal Palace and Buen Retiro Park. Match #3 in the evening.
Day 9
Morning free time to explore Madrid. Tour of Bernabeu Stadium (home of Real Madrid F.C.) before Match #4 in the evening!
Day 10
Morning departure for U.S. with friendships and memories to last a lifetime!
Tim Whittle
The Beyond Sports High School Tours are led by Tim Whittle.
Coach Whittle has 17 years of college coaching experience, including the last nine years as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Macalester College. As an assistant coach, he helped lead his alma mater, Washington University in St. Louis, to three straight NCAA Final Fours and back-to-back National Championships. Prior to coaching, Whittle had a six year career in corporate finance as Manager of Finance for the Florida Marlins (now Miami Marlins) and four years in Corporate Finance with SunTrust Bank in Atlanta.
