Trip Basics

Join us for an incredible lacrosse tour of Australia! In addition to educational tours and sightseeing in Melbourne and Sydney, the group will play three international games against top local junior club teams. In addition, the team will have two training sessions led by our college coaching staff. Beyond Sports is the world leader in international sport tours and we are excited to offer this opportunity to you!

Program cost includes hotel accommodations, all tours and entrance fees, three international matches, training sessions with U.S. college coaches, all local transportation, international health insurance, two meals daily, tour uniform and round-trip airfare from LAX. 

Lacrosse Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Depart from Hub Airport with the group (LAX). The group will be accompanied by tour coaches and Beyond Sports staff for the duration of the tour.

Day 2: Travel day/time change.


Day 3: Arrival at Melbourne Airport. Students shuttled to the hotel for check-in followed by orientation session, first team practice, and a welcome dinner. Overnight in Melbourne.


Day 4: Practice #2 in the morning. Spend the afternoon exploring the famous Queen Victoria Market, the largest open-air market in the Southern Hemisphere! You’ll find just about everything you can imagine from fresh produce, countless food stalls, and an impressive arts and craft scene perfect for picking up souvenirs. Game #1 in the evening. Overnight in Melbourne. 


Day 5: We’ll get a taste of Australia’s beautiful countryside with a day trip along the Great Ocean Road! This Australian National Heritage offers breathtaking views along a rugged coastline. We’ll go as far as Port Campbell National Park for an amazing photo opportunity at the 12 Apostles. Overnight in Melbourne.


Day 6: Melbourne has been ranked the world’s most livable city for the last six years! Enjoy some free time exploring the city with your new teammates followed by Game #2 in the evening. Overnight in Melbourne.

Day 7: We'll load the bus to visit some of the iconic areas of Melbourne on a day-long Melbourne city tour. Stops include the vibrant beach scene of St. Kilda and the charming coastal town of Brighton. Overnight in Melbourne.

Day 8: The morning and early afternoon are free for activities of your choosing! Our guides will provide recommendations and you can choose your adventure. The world famous Melbourne Zoo is always a popular choice! Game #3 in the evening. Overnight in Melbourne. 

Day 9: Travel day flying from Melbourne to Sydney. After checking into our hotel, we will have some free time to explore Darling Harbour before a night out for dinner. Overnight in Sydney. 


Day 10: As a group, we’ll tour the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The most adventurous among us can sign up for the Harbour Bridge Climb, where you will walk the upper structures of the bridge taking in spectacular views while securely connected to the structure by harness and climbing ropes. Overnight in Sydney.

Day 11: Enjoy the famous Bondi to Coogee Beach walk. Keep your eyes on the water, this is peak whale season! We'll enjoy a special farewell dinner in the evening recounting our favorite memories from the trip. Overnight in Sydney. 


Day 12: Say our goodbyes as we head to Sydney International Airport for travel back to the U.S. Crossing the international dateline, we'll arrive in the U.S. on the same day as we depart.

Here are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions:

Q: How do I plan for my son or daughter’s trip to Australia?

A: Beyond Sports does the planning for you! Our staff is available to answer questions anytime via video conference, phone, text, or email (schedule a call here, or call us anytime). Once registration is complete, you can expect to receive your student’s flight itinerary at least eight weeks before departure and a Pre-Departure Guide (packing list, staff contact info, detailed itinerary, etc.) four weeks before departure.

Q: Who is chaperoning the trip?

A: A tour guide and Tour Coach are with the group for the duration of the trip. Our tour guide will focus on organizing logistics, meals, and culturally enriching excursions while the Tour Coach is building a positive team environment. Since 2010, our staff have toured with over 2700 students and 150 college coaches.

Q: What if my child becomes sick or injured during the tour?

A: All travelers are covered by GeoBlue Health Insurance, a world leader in international student health insurance, for the duration of the trip (view our full policy here). If a participant has any concern of illness or injury, no matter how minor, they are encouraged to let a staff member know immediately so they can monitor the situation. Our staff are trained to always err on the side of caution and to seek medical attention for any concerning illness or injury. In the event medical attention is required, a student will be taken to a local hospital or clinic.

Q: What is the program cost for family members?

A: The first family member to travel pays the same program cost as the student-athlete. Every additional traveler that will share same-room occupancy receives a $500 discount. Special accommodations may be available for families with young children, depending on destination and hotel policy. Please contact a Beyond Sports Program Coordinator with any questions about pricing for larger groups.
